Ola Boys

It’s so true what they say . . . .Time waits for no man and as we approach the last few months of the year, I look back and think to myself….Shew! Where has this year gone?

Where exactly this year has gone I don’t know, but how it has gone, and I can simply say . . . .it has gone fantastic! For me anyway! I have always enjoyed Tabling throughout my few years in this organization but this year has by far been the highlight. I can only imagine what next year will hold in store .

As membership is of my concern this year, it pleases me to say that we have a hand full of solid and committed pipeliners with their inductions lurking on the horizon and I look forward to welcoming them all into the Table Family. Furthermore, I have also noticed that new faces are prominent in clubhouses throughout the NSCA. More so than I recall in recent times and that tells a tale on it’s own. The new faces . . . . . .Guests of course, and this shows me that you as Tablers are getting out there and doing your bit to see the continued success of Round Table.  Pat yourselves on the back gents. “Pat pat pat” Good Job!

I was always told you should only sell something you believe in, something you know is a good product, and therefore I can say that we should actually have no problem selling the idea of Table to these new faces. We just need to make them feel at home, show them how much it has to offer, how much it allows them to offer, and it wont take long for them to figure out how awesome our organization Round Table is!

Having visited each Table at least once and where possible, attended a fundraiser or project this year already, I realize that I have met the requirements as Area Vice for raiding and fellowship so I thought I’d take a break and maybe the rest of the year off. Hope you all don’t mind. WHATEVER! Laughs…..Ok, although I’ve been around, got around, or bought  a round, I have personally diarized unscheduled raids or visits to Tables in the last remaining months just as an impromptu put you on the spot visit, so there is that chance that I’ll gate crash something somewhere. Just keep an eye out for the good looking balding guy with bling! Ja ja, we all know that’s me.

One thing that I realized some time ago at a Table level, is that if there is something you do not agree with or are not entirely happy about, you must speak up. You have the right to voice your opinion at a meetings or conferences and in doing so, the issue gets addressed and dealt with. Those that don’t speak up will more than likely find themselves becoming unhappy in Table and thus start retracting from Table activities which leads a leave of absence being taken or possibly a resignation in time to come. This is most certainly not a first prize solution, in anyone books but rather a result that could almost always have been avoided by voicing your concerns at an early stage. So please tell everyone that we need to talk before we walk.

Just something that jumped to mind and I thought I’d mention.

In closing, I would like to share with you that I am extremely proud to a Tabler and the
Vice Chairman of the NSCA and look at it as a honor. I always don the Rondle with pride and I urge you all not to forget to do the same.

You can not experience passion if you don’t have a sense of pride and belonging.

So lets Table proudly.

Proudly Round Table . . & . . Proudly South Coast
