Jes Foord Handbag Project 2010

Gillian Brunings from Kloof 190 used Facebook connections and a variety of emails and text messages to spread the word to the legs of the South Coast Area and beyond that the Jes Foord Foundation was looking for old handbags to give to rape victims. Each person was asked to fill these bags with various items that would help these women in the hours after the event and to include fresh underwear and make-up. Each person was also asked to include a short note to help offer kind words and emotional support to a person they would probably never meet. The response was amazing and by far the biggest donation the foundation had received to date.
