ARTSA Membership Application Form
What the hell just happened???????????I cannot believe that our year is entering its ending phase! One minute it was all “vote for the Jedi” and the next I am writing my second Vice Advice????? Crickey George that last dum dum kicked @ss…. I seem to have “lost” half a year!!!
Gents I am super proud to say that I may have been watching the world wiz by but all of you surely haven’t! Since my last Vice Advice we have inducted another 3 quality upstanding gentlemen into our ranks and I have processed the membership applications for another 6 members. Well done NSCA I am super proud of all of you!
On a National level we have experienced some frustrations in respect of the induction packs and I must thank the Table Chairmen and Vice Chairmen reading this for their patience in this regard. The Area Chairman and I have resolved this issue with ARTSA and hopefully things will move along smoothly now!
The Area itself has been very busy with projects and fundraisers aplenty and I have made it one of my tasks this year to attend as many of your projects as I can, these have been to name but a few: Westville Winter Knights, Toti Oddball Olympics and the Berea July Day.
Outside of Area I have attended the annual Cannoballrun Africa. This saw me travel to Gauteng and spend six days with some quality Gauteng Tablers, in particular, Sandown 150. We raised over R450 000.00 for the Quadriplegic Society of SA, raised the public profile of Round Table and all the time we had mountains of fellowship and fun doing it!
I have raided the Free State Area conference in Harrismith with the Area Chairman, ARTSA Treasurer and Sheppie 83 Table Chairman. This was indeed a blast as can only be imagined during a table road trip! Heaps and Heaps of Fellowship was had by all concerned. Gents you have heard the old saying about raiding and getting out there and meeting people! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just do it! You cannot believe how rewarding it is to raid outside of our Area and have someone say to you, welcome, I remember you from ARTSA……..or I remember you from the Gamtoos Charter etc etc. The welcome that you experienced when you attended your first table meeting WILL be extended to you every time you raid out of Area! So if you are thinking about it, stop thinking and just do it! (thanks Brian Brandis, used your line here)
On the home front and upcoming, we have our own Area Conference in October, I will be attending the BMG Tri Area in Middelburg and we have the Cannonballrun KZN all in the month of October! So yep busy times, but hey, that’s the way we like it!
I would like to take this opportunity to wish our very own Andre Krugel good luck in his campaign to be elected as ARTSA Vice President for the year 2012-2013. Andre make us proud as I am sure you will!
I will be heading up to shadow ASSCO in November to be held in Bloemfontein, (cant believe that I am attending a shadow Assco already!!!) see comments above in respect of where has this year gone? I hope to make you all proud!
Gents for now that’s it, I am having the time of my life and literally absorbing all I can from this most marvelous Association but most of all I have enjoyed the fellowship with all my NSCA brothers during my raids and various visits and can only humbly say, thanks for electing me your Vice Chairman, thanks for permitting me to join this Area and thanks for showing me what Table is all about!
Gents on the home front I am proud to say that we are ticking boxes, every day, I find myself humming the LMFAO song, …………..however we not just shuffling…….. “everyday we tabling!”
Yours in Round Table,
Leon “The Tabling Jedi” Garbade
